The Bishop’s Conservatory Secondary School in Gozo recently organised an event aimed at increasing career awareness among its students. KONNEKT Search & Selection was invited to attend the event in order to meet the students and familiarise them with the skill sets and values needed at work.

KONNEKT set up a stand at the event and gave students the opportunity to ask questions regarding working in the recruitment industry. Students asked questions such as what a typical day at work entails, the skills required for the job, as well as the career prospects in that particular field. This allowed students to get a real picture of day to day life as a recruiter. The students also had the opportunity to learn about how they can make use of recruitment agencies when they eventually come to looking for a job in the future.

KONNEKT also set up speed interviewing sessions with the Form 4 students in order for them to experience what a job interview is really like and to better prepare them for the future. The interview questions were tailored to the students’ career interests including accounting, speech therapy, teaching and paediatrics. Students were given constructive feedback regarding the interview which they could work on to improve their performance in future interviews.

At KONNEKT we strongly believe in supporting the younger generation in order to help make the transition from education to work-life a smooth process.
