Data Protection Officer

Our client is seeking to recruit for a Data Protection Officer. You will be responsible for advising the Company on privacy-related matters, raising awareness and driving the companies’ General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance program.

Duties include: 

• Act as an advisor on all privacy-related matters to top management and other departments
• Conduct initial audits for new acquisitions and projects, identify gaps for compliance with GDPR requirements and oversee the implementation of improvement processes to ensure GDPR compliance
• Monitor compliance by ensuring that GDPR audits are regularly conducted
• Ensure all GDPR related policies, protocols and procedures are implemented and are being followed by all employees
• Maintain records of all data processing activities and data maps and ensure that impact assessments are conducted
• Be the point of contact between company and IDPC and/or data subjects when required
• Promote a culture of data protection compliance across all units of the organization in line with the group strategy
• Support, guide and manage data breaches including internal reporting in line with established procedures and external reporting to the IDPC
• Provide regular reports on privacy status of the above entities to the boards of directors
• Educate leadership and employees on GDPR compliance and requirements
• Review agreements from a privacy perspective and negotiate data protection terms with business partners, ensuring vendor risk assessments are conducted. 

Requirements

• Candidates must have held an DPO previosly
• Experience in working within fast faced environment is required
• Experience with Data Protections regulations in the EU
• Candidates must hold strong experience within data protetction

Education and Experience

• Holding a Legal Degree is an asset
