Saint Margaret College for boys in Cospicua will be once again launching its Job Shadowing Week in the beginning of November. This event, which has been religiously organised by the school since 2008, gives 14 to 16 year old students, exposure to the workplace and a taste of the different industries and job opportunities in Malta in which they might choose to follow a career. The initiative is supported by the Student Services Department within the Ministry of Education and is also carried out in other public schools around Malta.

In preparation for the Job Shadowing Week, the College collaborated with up to 60 employers who will be taking on a student for a week and allow them to experience a typical daily work routine through shadowing a number of employees. The job placements are chosen according to the students’ career aspirations and include organisations in various industries, both in the private and public sectors.

This year, in order to give students a more holistic experience, Saint Margaret College invited KONNEKT Search & Selection to contribute through informational sessions related to CV writing, interview preparation skills and job market trends. Throughout the past week, Careers Workshops were delivered to students by KONNEKT team members, on school premises in Cospicua. These Workshops were then supported by individual mock interviews with each of the 120 students participating in the Job Shadowing Week.
