YouthSpark Live, the annual event organised in collaboration with AIESEC and Microsoft, was once again held at the Microsoft Innovation Centre in Luqa this year. YouthSpark Live is an international initiative aimed at inspiring young adults, which focuses on careers within the IT industry, entrepreneurship, technology proficiency and preparation for all IT jobs in Malta and abroad. This event brought together a number of local students with a passion for the IT industry, for a full day event.
In attendance were Hon. Evarist Bartolo, Minister of Education and Employment, together with a number of prominent speakers associated with the IT industry. As one of AIESEC’s national partners, KONNEKT was invited to facilitate one of the planned workshops on Bridging the Gap between education and employment. Throughout the workshop, Charlene Debattista, one of KONNEKT’s IT Recruitment Specialists, shared insight through experience, on the effects of technology and social media on job search and job prospects, and how these tools can be effectively used to ameliorate the experience of landing a job.
