It has become an essential part of KONNEKT’s CSR initiatives to opt for making a donation to one of the many well-deserving charity organisations in Malta, in lieu of sending out Christmas cards and gifts.
The charity chosen by KONNEKT employees for 2015 was the Migrant Offshore And Station (MOAS). MOAS is a charity dedicated to saving lives at sea by providing professional search and rescue to people who are in distress. MOAS was established in response to a humanitarian disaster in October 2013 in which some 400 men, women and children drowned off the Italian island of Lampedusa. Since inception the operation has saved 12,000 lives.
We deeply empathise with individuals and families who decide to leave everything behind, risk their lives in search for a better and safer future. We have decided to be active citizens and support a cause that has a profound impact on lives.
A MOAS representative was invited over to KONNEKT offices earlier this week, and presented the organisation with a donation of €4,000.
