Junior Accountant (Greek Speaking)

Our client, in the F&B sector is looking for a Greek speaking Junior Accountant to join their team locally in Malta. 

The Junior Accountant will manage all accounting tasks to ensure the integrity of financial records working closely with the Group Financial Controller.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate financial records and perform bookkeeping tasks.
• Compile and validate financial data.
• Monitor invoicing, billing, and financial statements according to established procedures.
• Prepare timely and accurate Monthly Management Accounts.
• Record financial transactions and ensure accuracy of records.
• Prepare VAT and other regulatory returns.
• Conduct regular bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Analyze and address accounting issues.
• Propose improvements to enhance accounting workflows.
• Coordinate with external auditors and advisors to meet company deadlines.
• Manage daily and month-end financial transactions.
• Assist the Group Financial Controller in overseeing the accounting team's daily operations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a comparable role.
• Proficient in meeting deadlines and managing tasks effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Capable of working calmly and efficiently under pressure.
• Results-driven and highly motivated individual.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Greek.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Experience with Greek company will be considered an asset
• Clean police conduct certificate (must be presented)

Education and Experience

• Fully or partially qualified accountant
