Our client is looking to employ a Senior Public Relations & Communications Executive to join their growing team. As part of your responsibilities you will be:
- Develop and lead the overall communications and PR strategy, aligning it with organisational goals while ensuring consistent messaging across all channels.
- Oversee and guide the creation of engaging internal and external content, including stories, interviews, press releases, articles, and public awareness campaigns.
- Lead the planning and execution of large-scale communication projects and campaigns, managing timelines, budgets, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations.
- Supervise the management of social media channels, ensuring content is strategic, platform-appropriate, and enhances brand positioning.
- Develop and manage relationships with local and international media, acting as the primary contact for press inquiries and securing media placements.
- Oversee the design and creation of high-quality visual assets for social media, campaigns, and events, ensuring brand consistency and appeal.
- Provide leadership in stakeholder management, working closely with senior internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities and manage reputational risk.
- Utilise various content formats, including video and podcasts, to diversify communication channels and enhance audience reach and engagement.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on media coverage and PR campaign effectiveness, recommending improvements based on insights and data.
- Oversee website content management, ensuring timely updates, SEO optimisation, and alignment with ongoing campaigns.
- Lead the preparation of annual and interim reports, speeches, presentations, and key messages for senior management
- Support the organisation’s participation in national and international events, managing PR and communication aspects and representing the organisation as needed.
- Liaise with and manage external PR and marketing agencies and suppliers to ensure quality delivery of services and campaigns.
- Act as a mentor and guide for junior members of the PR and communications team, fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment.
Working Hours: Monday - Friday
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in PR and communications, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role managing projects or teams.
- Have an excellent command of the English language, with a flair for writing and an eye for detail
- Demonstrate good research capabilities and have excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrate proficiency in harnessing the potential of diverse content types, including video productions and podcasts, amongst others.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Be able to organise, multi-task, meet strict deadlines and prioritise tasks in accordance with the requirements of the function.
- Candidates must already be based in Malta, with the legal right to work in Malta.
- Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale PR and communication projects or campaigns.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing, social media management, and SEO best practices.
Education and Experience
- A minimum of an MQF level 6 in preferably English, Communications or Journalism.
- Knowledge of Wordpress, MailChimp and Canva will be considered an asset.
