The IT Support Officer is responsible for maintaining and supporting the organization’s IT systems, networks, and hardware.
This role requires hands-on experience in system administration, network management, and IT security. You will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of the IT environment to effectively support business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Support and maintain systems, networks, and the overall IT infrastructure.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and endpoint issues in a timely manner.
Monitor and manage system backups and data integrity processes.
Provide first- and second-line technical support to staff, ensuring prompt ticket resolution and proper escalation when required.
Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights across core systems and services.
Perform routine system maintenance, updates, and security patches for operating systems and applications.
In this role you might be called after working hours and this over time will be added as time in lieu.
Requirements
Strong working knowledge of Windows-based environments
Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and Wi-Fi
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with non-technical users
Education and Experience
Diploma in Information Technology or a related field
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an IT support role
