Quality Management (QM) Manager

Our client in the Pharma Industry is looking for a Quality Management Manager – Operations / Qualified Person to join their team. The person will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and leading the Operations Team within the company’s Quality Management Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and coordinates the daily functions of the Operations Team within the Quality Management department, ensuring optimal use of human and material resources within budgetary constraints.
  • Ensures timely execution of all operations and quality support activities related to batch release.
  • Maintains, manages, and continuously improves all relevant quality operations and systems.
  • Drives and promotes a strong quality culture across the organisation, leading initiatives such as the "Quality on the Floor" project.
  • Coordinates Contract Manufacturing Organisation (CMO) management activities within the team.
  • Leads the establishment and monitoring of quality KPIs and metrics, ensuring effective measurement, analysis, and communication.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, H&S regulations, and applicable US, EU, and international GMP standards related to APIs and pharmaceutical products.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement efforts and special projects as assigned by the Head of Quality Management and the Head of Malta Operations.
  • Understands and implements strategic objectives and related policies effectively.

Requirements:

  • A University undergraduate degree in Pharmacy or a related scientific field.
  • Eligibility to act as a Qualified Person (QP), as recognised by the Malta Medicines Authority.
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a pharmaceutical quality unit, including a minimum of 2 years in a QP role.
  • In-depth knowledge of GMP and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and general computer literacy.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Results-driven and aligned with the company’s core values.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate a team effectively.
  • Strong multitasking and time management skills with the ability to prioritise.
