One of our clients working within civil engineering and infrastructure development is searching for a Project Manager to join their growing team. The chosen candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing road construction and infrastructure projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The role involves coordinating with multiple teams, managing subcontractors, and ensuring all works comply with local regulations and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage road construction and infrastructure projects from inception to handover.
- Prepare detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation schedules.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, land surveyors, site supervisors, and subcontractors
- Oversee day-to-day operations on site, ensuring smooth workflow and timely progress.
- Monitor project budgets and control costs to avoid overruns.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, health & safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Review and approve technical drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
- Identify and resolve project risks or delays promptly.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings.
- Report regularly to senior management on project status, challenges, and outcomes.
Requirements
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficient in project management software and MS Office Suite.
- Sound knowledge of Maltese construction regulations and standards.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of Maltese is considered an asset.
Education and Experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Project Management certification is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in project management within the road construction or civil infrastructure sector.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex infrastructure projects.
