Business Analyst - Project Implementation

Our client, operating in the payments industry, is looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join their growing team: 

The Business Analyst – Project Implementation will be responsible for monitoring and recommending improvements to software and business systems. The role involves overseeing the implementation of projects and changes from initiation through to completion.

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, this individual will participate in requirements gathering with clients, documenting, configuring, and testing requirements and enhancements for both new and existing projects. The position requires direct client interaction and collaboration with internal teams to provide estimates, perform analyses, and deliver high-level design for change requests and project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing delivery and release schedules for projects, changes, service requests, and mandatory releases in line with client SLAs.
  • Actively contribute to, and potentially lead, knowledge transfer activities while providing technical guidance during requirements analysis and handover.
  • Prepare requirements analysis and design documents, along with high-level test cases to support the creation of functional and regression test cases.
  • Create, execute, and maintain automated and manual tests to ensure software meets defined business requirements.
  • Engage and liaise daily with clients and internal teams during testing phases to ensure compliance with business requirements, specifications, and timelines.
  • Support technical teams in developing optimal use cases and database designs.
  • Coordinate with the testing team across different phases and represent end-users during the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) stage.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the financial services industry and an understanding of end-to-end systems development life cycles.
  • Previous experience in the payments industry.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL
  • Experience in testing methodologies, test case creation, maintenance, and execution with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to successfully conduct both remote and face-to-face client meetings and training sessions.
  • Located in Malta and local experience

Education and Experience

  • Certificate, diploma, or degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business & IT, or an equivalent qualification and/or work experience. A Master’s degree is desirable.
