Systems Administrator
Central Malta | €30,000 - €35,000 Annually
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented System Administrator to manage, maintain, and optimise our end-user IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain user laptops, desktops, and related IT systems.
- Manage and support Windows and/or Linux server environments (e.g., Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu Server).
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability of infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Configure and maintain network services such as DNS, DHCP, and VPN.
- Ensure systems remain secure, patched, and compliant with internal policies and best practices.
- Manage identity and access controls, including systems such as Active Directory.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Maintain clear documentation of systems, processes, and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams on infrastructure improvements, projects, and upgrades.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, routing).
- Experience with scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash, or Python).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 2–3+ years of experience in system administration or a similar role.
- Located in Malta with local experience
