Our client is looking for a skilled IT Operations Specialist to join their growing IT team. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring our technology environment remains secure, reliable, and efficient.
Reporting directly to the IT Operations Manager, you’ll be involved in day-to-day operational support, contribute to technology projects, and help implement IT best practices across the organisation.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain and Support Systems: Manage daily IT operations to ensure smooth, secure, and uninterrupted service delivery.
- Provide Technical Assistance: Offer direct support across hardware, software, networking, and cloud services.
- Administer Systems: Oversee and maintain Microsoft platforms including Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Azure, VMware, and backup environments.
- Monitor Performance: Use monitoring tools to track infrastructure health, identify issues early, and respond quickly to incidents.
- Enhance Security: Support the deployment of cybersecurity measures and maintain compliance with security frameworks and standards.
- Document and Organise: Keep detailed and accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Improve Processes: Assist in refining IT policies and introducing operational improvements to boost efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate Effectively: Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to deliver scalable, high-quality IT services.
Communication: Strong communicator capable of explaining technical matters clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Team Player: Collaborative and dependable, with the ability to work effectively across different departments.
Adaptability: Comfortable working flexible or irregular hours when necessary.
Requirements
- Strong background in Microsoft environments, including Active Directory, Azure AD, Domain Controllers, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and Exchange.
- Practical experience managing VMware environments and backup technologies.
- Proven commitment to cybersecurity and risk management practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
- Certifications: Industry-recognised credentials such as Microsoft, VMware, or Cisco (e.g., CCNA), and ITIL4 Specialist: Create, Deliver, Support.
Education and Experience
- 3-5 years in IT infrastructure support, ideally within the telecom or service industry.
