I'm currently recruiting for a hands-on IT leader who is passionate about ensuring seamless IT operations and driving technical excellence. My client is looking for a proactive and technically skilled IT Operations Manager to join their dynamic and fast-paced IT team.
This is a pivotal role that involves overseeing the reliability, performance, and security of critical IT systems, while leading and developing a team of experienced IT professionals.
Responsibilities
- Lead & Manage: Oversee daily IT operations, ensuring smooth, secure, and efficient performance across all systems.
- Team Development: Mentor and support IT staff, encouraging a culture of learning, collaboration, and technical excellence.
- Technical Oversight: Manage and maintain networking (Cisco), Linux systems (RedHat, Ubuntu), and Microsoft environments (Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Azure).
- System Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Proactively manage system performance, identifying and resolving issues before they impact users.
- Policy & Procedure Development: Establish and enforce IT operational standards and best practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to ensure IT initiatives align with business objectives.
- Incident Management: Lead incident and problem resolution efforts to minimize downtime and maintain service continuity.
- Infrastructure Scaling: Oversee infrastructure upgrades, expansions, and ongoing maintenance.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of networking (Cisco), Linux environments (RedHat, Ubuntu), and Microsoft systems (Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, Azure).
- Hands-on experience with virtualization (VMware) and cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- A proactive and structured approach to diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage conflicts, foster collaboration, and drive results.
Education and Experience
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
