Our client, operating in hospitality, is looking for an IT Manager to built their IT Department from the start.
This role won't be a typical IT Manager from the start, however you can grow into one.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily IT operations, including systems such as property management, point-of-sale, CRM, and accounting platforms.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans to reduce downtime and ensure operational resilience.
- Provide prompt technical support for hardware and software issues to minimise disruptions and maintain efficient departmental workflows.
- Maintain continuous availability and performance of mission-critical systems, supported by strong backup and recovery strategies.
- Oversee the procurement, deployment, maintenance, and eventual replacement of devices.
- Manage software licenses and subscriptions, ensuring compliance with relevant agreements.
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity protocols, including firewalls, antivirus solutions, and access controls.
- Monitor network performance and data integrity to protect against security breaches and data loss.
- Support compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR.
- Collaborate with leadership and departmental teams to assess and meet evolving technology needs.
- Lead IT projects involving infrastructure upgrades, system integrations, and software rollouts.
- Assist in IT budgeting, forecasting future requirements and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Contribute to long-term IT strategy in support of business growth and guest experience enhancement.
- Partner with design and construction teams during new development projects to integrate IT and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems (e.g., CCTV, access control).
- Participate in the planning and selection of technologies for TV systems, internet services, ELV, and overall IT infrastructure in new properties.
- Lead the selection and evaluation of structured cabling, TV/casting systems, building management systems, CCTV, connectivity solutions, and network architecture.
- Coordinate with external IT providers and consultants to ensure efficient, cost-effective support.
Requirements
- Certifications (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco) are advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive, service-oriented mindset.
- Excellent time management and the ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
- High standards of integrity, especially when handling sensitive systems and data.
- Adaptable, forward-thinking, and motivated to grow professionally.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of experience in a comparable IT role; prior experience in hospitality is an asset.
- Located in Malta and previous working experience locally.
