We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded IT leader to oversee and evolve a Group’s technology function across a diverse business environment spanning construction, production, and retail operations.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the Group’s IT strategy, ensuring secure and scalable infrastructure, and driving digital transformation initiatives that support long-term business growth. You will act as a strategic partner to leadership while ensuring the reliability, security, and continuous improvement of enterprise technology services across the organisation.
Core Areas of Responsibility
Driving Technology Direction
- Shape the long-term technology roadmap to support the Group’s operational and commercial objectives.
- Champion innovation initiatives that modernise systems, improve efficiency, and support business growth.
- Partner with executive stakeholders to align technology investments with strategic priorities.
Leading Business-Critical Technology
- Ensure the stability, performance, and resilience of the Group’s technology ecosystem across multiple business units.
- Oversee enterprise applications, infrastructure, cloud environments, connectivity, and workplace technologies.
- Continuously enhance system reliability, scalability, and operational support capabilities.
Transformation & Systems Evolution
- Lead enterprise system enhancements and digital transformation programmes across key operational areas.
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows through automation and smarter use of technology.
- Assess emerging technologies and industry trends to drive future-ready solutions.
Security, Governance & Continuity
- Maintain strong governance practices covering cybersecurity, data protection, compliance, and operational risk.
- Ensure robust continuity planning, disaster recovery readiness, and proactive risk mitigation.
- Oversee incident management and recovery activities when required.
People, Partnerships & Delivery
- Build and lead a high-performing IT function focused on collaboration, accountability, and service excellence.
- Manage strategic technology vendors, external partners, and procurement activities.
- Drive delivery standards, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across the technology function.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT, including proven leadership experience in a managerial capacity.
- Strong background in enterprise infrastructure, cloud technologies, ERP systems, cybersecurity, and large-scale IT project delivery.
- Commercially aware with strong stakeholder management and decision-making capabilities.
- Strong understanding of governance, compliance, risk management, and service delivery best practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
Education and Experience
- Degree-level qualification (MQF Level 6) in Information Technology or a related field.
- Experience operating within complex business environments such as construction, manufacturing, retail, or multi-site operations is considered highly valuable.
