Academic Director

One of our clients is seeking an experienced Academic Director to lead and oversee the academic operations of their online university. The chosen candidate will be supervising program directors, setting academic guidelines, and driving the continuous improvement of their educational offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and coordinate the activities of Program Directors across various degree courses.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to ensure the delivery of high-quality academic programs.
• Define and implement academic guidelines, policies, and standards.
• Collaborate with leadership to enhance the institution's curriculum and align offerings with market demands.
• Actively participate in the day-to-day operational tasks to ensure seamless academic processes.
• Work closely with administrative teams to resolve challenges and maintain academic integrity.
• Continuously evaluate and improve the curriculum to meet evolving educational standards.
• Foster a culture of innovation in online teaching and learning methods.
• Act as a liaison between faculty, administration, and external academic bodies.
• Represent the university in academic forums and partnerships.

Requirements

• Fluency in English (both written and spoken). Maltese or Italian is a nice to have.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
• A proactive attitude with a willingness to take on operational tasks and "roll up your sleeves."
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of curriculum design, quality assurance, and academic operations.

Education and Experience

• Advanced degree (PhD preferred) in a relevant field, ideally in Computer Science, Cyber Secutiy or Business Technology
• Proven experience in academic leadership, preferably in an online or hybrid educational setting and in degree courses such as computer science, cyber security or business technology.
