We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to become part of our client's team, based at their head office in Birkirkara, Malta. In this key position, the chose candidate will work closely with the procurement function, supporting tendering and purchasing activities while ensuring precise evaluation and management of quantities, costs, and financial data.
Key Responsibilities
Work in coordination with the procurement team on tender processes, including reviewing documentation and compiling cost estimates.
Carry out on-site measurements and quantity take-offs, ensuring reliable reporting of quantities and costs.
Develop, check, and submit rate breakdowns while ensuring proper document management and accuracy.
Review subcontractor invoices and payment applications, verifying correctness and compliance.
Oversee cost and value reconciliation processes, providing timely updates to management.
Track project budgets and produce detailed progress and financial reports.
Participate in site meetings and assess contractor claims to ensure transparency and accountability.
Meet deadlines consistently, maintaining a high level of precision across all documentation and deliverables.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues.
Adhere to company procedures and support ongoing improvement initiatives.
Suggest and apply innovative approaches to improve efficiency and project results.
Requirements
Candidate must be based in Malta already
Strong working knowledge of MS Office applications, especially Word and Excel, along with other relevant tools.
Excellent analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.
Confident communicator with a professional approach when interacting with stakeholders.
Ability to manage workload under pressure and meet strict deadlines independently.
Valid driving licence and access to personal transport.
Education and Experience
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar Quantity Surveying role, particularly in cost evaluation, site measurement, and reporting.
Background in residential, commercial, or hospitality construction projects ideal
Familiarity with local construction regulations and practices.
Knowledge of additional languages is considered an advantage.
