Our client is looking to onboard a Quantity Surveyor to join their technical team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in tendering processes, cost control, contract administration, and the overall financial management of construction projects across the Group.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Contracts Manager in evaluating tenders and contract documentation
Prepare cost estimates, advise on profit margins, and submit commercially viable tenders
Monitor project costs, review cost reports against budgets and valuations, and highlight variances
Assist in forecasting project turnover and preparing project budgets
Support the planning, programming, and scheduling of works
Manage contractual correspondence, claims, and prepare subcontractor and piecework contracts
Identify and flag potential site issues impacting project performance
Gather and consolidate data from internal departments, subsidiaries, and subcontractors
Prepare internal project valuations and submit monthly payment applications to clients
Issue monthly subcontractor and piecework certificates, liaising with the Accounts Department
Coordinate with Project Managers and Site Foremen to maintain accurate site records (daywork sheets, vouchers, site diaries)
Assist in preparing confirmations of verbal instructions and Requests for Information (RFIs)
Prepare cost and variation provisions for monthly commercial meetings
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within the construction industry
Proven experience in tendering & cost control
Strong numerical and analytical skills, with sound knowledge of construction materials
Excellent level of English, both written and verbal
