Our client is looking for a Quantity Surveyor. Reporting directly to the Head of Department, the person will be responsible for the effective management and control of project costs throughout the full project lifecycle. This includes cost estimation, tendering, cost control, valuations, and risk management, ensuring that projects are delivered within budget and in line with quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate cost estimates, Bills of Quantities, and tender documentation for installation projects.
Monitor and control project costs, budgets, variations, and expenditures throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare interim claims, valuations, invoices, and manage payment processes.
Assess completed works and manage contractual obligations with subcontractors and suppliers.
Perform quantity take-offs and maintain up-to-date pricing for materials and services.
Identify cost-related risks, provide contractual support, and assist with dispute resolution.
Collaborate with project teams and liaise with Procurement, Finance, Drafting, clients, and subcontractors.
Support value engineering, cost analysis, profitability reporting, and budget forecasting.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (considered an asset).
Previous local experience in a similar role.
Strong numerical and analytical skills, with sound knowledge of construction materials and associated costs.
Proficiency in quantity surveying and purchasing software.
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Autodesk True View.
Strong negotiation skills and high attention to detail.
Effective time management and problem-solving abilities.
European passport or valid permit to work in Malta.
