Warehouse Operations Manager

Our client who specializes in the retail and FMCG industry is looking for a Operations Manager (warehouse). Your roles and responsibilities will include: 

•  Strategically managing the Warehouse in compliance with the company’s values, policies and vision
•  Overseeing incoming goods, warehousing, distribution and maintenance operations;
• Ensuring efficient space utilization
• Initiating, coordinating and enforcing optimal operational policies and procedures
• Adhering to all warehousing, handling and shipping legislation requirements
• Maintaining standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
• Managing stock control and reconciling with data storage system
• Investigating any discrepancies in stock within one week and report findings to the CFO
• Liaising with clients and transportation companies;
• Planning work schedules, assigning tasks appropriately and appraising results;
• Recruiting, selecting, orientating, coaching and motivating employees;
• Producing reports and statistics on a regular basis
• Receiving feedback and monitoring the quality of services provided
•  Monitoring and utilizing the security systems and maintenance
•  Optimizing the route planning process
•  Ensuring best practice in all aspects of operation
•  Leading the respective team by example and keeping subordinates motivated and always working as a team

Requirements

• Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
• Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators
• Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
• Possess strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Maltese
• Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security

Education and Experience

• Have a minimum of five years’ previous working experience as a Warehouse Manager, preferably in the FMCG industry;
