Technical Procurement Specialist

  South of Malta  |  €35,000 - €40,000 Annually 

Our client is looking to recruit a Technical Procurement Specialist to join their growing team. The chosen candidate will:

  • Align procurement activities with project financial goals, ensuring purchases meet both budgetary and timeline requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement department to conduct thorough market research and identify competitive rates and service providers, ensuring optimal value for money.
  • Conduct pre-qualification technical assessments on Bills of Quantities (BOQs) prior to tender awards or similar processes.
  • Track and expedite orders in coordination with suppliers and project teams, ensuring the timely delivery of critical materials and equipment.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to monitor the progress of orders and address any issues that may affect delivery schedules.
  • Perform regular inspections and audits of suppliers to validate adherence to quality standards and ensure the reliability of the procurement process.
  • Engage in discussions with the Procurement department to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in management processes.
  • Implement industry best practices and standards to optimize project purchasing and resource management.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in procurement and purchasing within the construction industry is a must.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Knowledge of procurement software and tools.
  • Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.
  • Written and verbal proficiency of both Maltese and English is a must.
