Our client, in the food and beverage industry are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing & Shipping Executive to join our team in the food industry. In this role, you will play a key part in managing procurement and logistics processes to ensure optimal stock levels, timely deliveries, and cost-effective operations. Key Responsibilities are:
- Monitor stock levels and analyze sales trends to forecast purchasing needs.
- Place and follow up on purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring all order details — including volume, specifications, price, quality, quantity, delivery timelines, and any special requirements — are accurate and clearly communicated.
- Maintain optimal inventory by preventing stock shortages and avoiding overstocking.
- Plan and coordinate shipments by evaluating transportation options based on cost, speed, and reliability.
- Track order progress and update relevant departments with expected delivery timelines.
- Handle product costing and pricing, and manage both internal and external communication related to products.
- Stay informed on customs procedures and relevant legislation that could impact product pricing or delivery schedules.
- Coordinate customs clearance and forwarding processes to ensure smooth delivery of goods.
Requirements
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Previous experience in a similar purchasing or shipping role is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy.
