Our client, in the food and beverage industry are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing & Shipping Officer to join our team in the food industry. In this role, you will play a key part in managing procurement and logistics processes to ensure optimal stock levels, timely deliveries, and cost-effective operations.
Responsibilities
Monitor stock levels and analyze sales trends to forecast purchasing needs
Place and follow up on purchase orders with suppliers, ensuring all order details are accurate and clearly communicated
Maintain optimal inventory by preventing stock shortages and avoiding overstocking
Plan and coordinate shipments by evaluating transportation options based on cost, speed, and reliability
Track order progress and update relevant departments with expected delivery timelines
Product costing and internal and external communication related to products
Coordinate customs clearance and forwarding processes to ensure smooth delivery of goods
Requirements
Fluency in written and spoken English
Previous experience in a similar purchasing or shipping role is preferred
Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Excellent communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy
