Our client is looking for a Purchasing Officer for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of goods and services required by the company. The role ensures that materials are procured at competitive prices, delivered on time, and meet the required quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
Source and purchase goods, materials, and services required by the company.
Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
Prepare and process purchase orders in line with company procedures.
Coordinate with internal departments to understand purchasing needs and specifications.
Monitor order status and ensure timely delivery of materials.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
Assist in negotiating contracts, prices, and delivery terms with suppliers.
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to avoid shortages or overstocking.
Requirements
Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain.
Someone who has been already located in Malta already.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Knowledge of procurement systems or ERP software is considered an asset.
Education
Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
