We are looking for a meticulous and organized Purchasing & Cost Control Officer to join a well-established company. This role is central to managing the procurement lifecycle, ensuring that high-quality industrial equipment and interior products are ordered efficiently, tracked accurately, and costed correctly within the company’s systems.
Key Responsibilities
Order Management: Prepare and place purchase orders with international suppliers based on specific company requirements.
Logistics Coordination: Follow up on production timelines and coordinate with freight forwarders and logistics partners to manage shipping schedules.
Cost Control: Verify purchase prices, freight costs, and duties to calculate and update accurate product costings in the ERP system.
Shipment Monitoring: Track progress and proactively resolve any delays or issues to ensure on-time delivery.
Internal Liaison: Communicate regularly with warehouse and sales teams regarding the status of incoming goods and stock availability.
Reporting: Compare supplier pricing and evaluate conditions to ensure cost efficiency, providing management with detailed purchasing reports and cost analysis.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and accurate purchasing records and documentation.
Requirements
Experience: Proven background in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations.
Shipping Knowledge: Familiarity with international shipping procedures and documentation.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using ERP or inventory management systems.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data entry and complex cost calculations.
Communication: Strong written and spoken English is essential.
Languages: Knowledge of Italian is considered a strong advantage due to frequent communication with Italian suppliers.
Soft Skills: Excellent organizational skills with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and logistics providers.
