We are looking for a Procurement Officer to join a dynamic team within a fast-paced and challenging industry. In this role, you will be responsible for the procurement of various items, materials, and equipment required by the company and its world-renowned clients.
Responsible for the procurement of goods and services for both internal requirements and client requests, strictly following established procedures.
Communicate with internal stakeholders and clients to clearly understand their specific requirements.
Request quotations based on identified needs, issue official quotations to clients per contracts, and provide cost comparisons for internal requests.
Review technical and HSE requirements as per company procedure.
Conduct sourcing activities and negotiate pricing with vendors to ensure savings and sales targets are met.
Review shipment requirements and obtain shipping costs through the logistics department.
Raise purchase orders with suppliers and follow the order lifecycle until it arrives at the base.
Input data into reports, chase pending quotes/documentation, and hand over all financial records to the finance department in a timely manner.
Develop and maintain professional business rapport with both vendors and clients.
Provide training and support to other department members and assist the Head of Department in developing or updating procurement processes.
Requirements
Minimum of one (1) year of working experience within a procurement role
EQF Level 4 education in business-related subjects
Fluent in written and spoken English. The ability to understand Maltese is considered an asset
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, with specific expertise in Microsoft Excel
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, as necessary
Ability to work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines
Excellent time management and the ability to multitask with minimal supervision.
A strong, ethical character and the ability to work effectively within a team.
Must hold a valid driving license (Category B) and a valid work permit.
