Our client, a reputable general contracting and finishing company is searching for a skilled and experienced Procurement Officer to join their team. As a Procurement Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing the sourcing, purchasing, and commercial activities for our finishes company.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates during tender stages, based on contracts, budgets, BOQs, and technical documentation.
- Plan and manage tender submissions and obtain quotations for materials, labour, and equipment.
- Assist in drafting and reviewing Bills of Quantities and installation drawings according to plans and specifications.
- Forecast and monitor material costs, adjusting budgets as design or construction changes occur.
- Support the Projects Manager in preparing contracts for subcontractors and ensuring contractual terms are upheld.
- Measure work completed on-site, prepare and negotiate interim and final payment applications (AfPs), and manage certification.
- Consolidate BOQs and payment applications, and certify subcontractor works and claims (CfPs).
- Liaise regularly with clients, project managers, site engineers, and other stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and project cost analyses.
- Carry out on-site surveys, prepare as-built documentation, and provide commercial support across departments.
- Maintain close coordination with the Operations/Project Manager throughout project lifecycles to track variations and contractual deviations.
Requirements
- Candidates must already be working in Malta
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ideally procurement software
- Excellent command in English; Maltese preferred
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills with the ability to forecast, budget, and evaluate costs.
- Ability to create and interpret as-built drawings and installation layouts.
Education and Experience
- A recognized qualification in Procurement, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (minimum Diploma Level; Degree preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, quantity surveying, or commercial management, preferably within the construction or finishes industry.
