Our client is looking to onboard a Procurement Coordinator to provide operational and tactical support to the Head of Procurement in the management of assigned product categories.
Responsibilities
Execute the day-to-day operational activities for assigned product categories under the guidance of the Head of Procurement
Track and manage outstanding operational items within the categories, ensuring timely completion of tactical tasks such as pricing updates, SKU launches, and supplier follow-ups
Monitor category-specific timelines and ensure that responsibilities, deliverables, and deadlines outlined in the category plan are adhered to
Serve as the primary operational point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders within the assigned categories
Support in supplier negotiations by preparing relevant materials, including historical performance data and market insights
Maintain accurate product and procurement data for assigned categories within company systems
Conduct cost analysis and price benchmarking to support margin improvement initiatives
Monitor relevant raw material market trends to identify potential price fluctuations and provide early insights
Participate in and observe strategic discussions and supplier negotiations to develop category management expertise
Gradually assume increased responsibility for category-related decisions, including product selection, sourcing, and pricing, under supervision
Requirements
Previous experience in a similar role
Strong analytical capability with the ability to work effectively with complex spreadsheets and interpret relationships between cost drivers and pricing
Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage operational demands efficiently
Clear and concise reporting ability, with strong professional communication skills when engaging with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
Fluent in Maltese & English, both written and verbal
