The client is currently seeking a Logistics Junior Assistant to support the day-to-day procurement, shipping, and administrative operations within an import/export environment. The selected candidate will assist with ordering goods, tracking shipments, maintaining records, and coordinating with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs agents to ensure timely deliveries.
Responsibilities:
• Assisting with the placement of orders with suppliers.
• Following up on order confirmations and delivery timelines.
• Maintaining purchase orders, invoices, and procurement records.
• Supporting supplier price comparisons and cost evaluations.
• Updating and monitoring stock levels.
• Tracking shipments and updating delivery schedules accordingly.
• Liaising with freight forwarders and shipping companies.
• Preparing and organising shipping documentation, including invoices and packing lists.
• Assisting with customs clearance processes by providing the required documentation.
• Reporting shipping delays or operational issues when necessary.
• Maintaining accurate procurement and logistics files.
• Updating spreadsheets, reports, and delivery records.
• Supporting invoice processing and payment coordination.
• Handling emails and calls related to procurement and logistics matters.
Requirements:
• Previous experience within an international trade, logistics, or import/export company would be considered an asset.
• Familiarity with logistics software or ERP systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of Incoterms and customs procedures would be advantageous.
• Must be organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in following up on tasks and operational processes.
