Our Client, a leading provider in the automotive and marine industries, is searching to recruit a Logistics Clerk to support the daily logistics operations. This role involves maintaining shipment records, coordinating with suppliers and carriers, and handling documentation to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. The main responsibilities are:
- Organize and prepare all administrative tasks related to the sales of vehicles.
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and customs paperwork.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in logistics and warehouse management systems.
- Communicate with freight carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to track shipments and resolve delivery issues.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory audits and cycle counts.
- Follow all statutory requirements directly related to importation and selling and registration of vehicles
- Liaise with the banks regarding vehicles which have been received
- Ensuring that copies of log books, plates and licenses are kept up to date and the relevant information inputted into the IT/stock systems.
- Inputting the necessary data of new shipments into the relevant stock systems.
- Assist in the release of vehicles from the bonded stores to ensure a timely delivery to clients.
- Prepare the necessary documentation in relation to the creation of new shipments and passing on to superior for approval.
- Completing the documentation liaising with subcontractors and insurers as required.
- Prepare the relevant documentation required for the payment of tax, such as customs duty, registration tax, VAT and others.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and data upkeep as required
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in logistics, shipping/receiving, or inventory management, ideally within the automotive or marine industries.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP or logistics software is a plus.
- Knowledge of domestic and international shipping procedures and documentation.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
