Our client, a leading IT solutions provider in Malta, is seeking an experienced and driven PHP Developer for their dynamic technical team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience with MVC frameworks like Yii2 or Laravel and will be instrumental in building and maintaining sophisticated, secure web applications.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and maintain high-quality web applications using PHP and modern MVC frameworks (e.g., Yii2, Laravel).
- Design and develop robust, scalable RESTful APIs and handle all aspects of backend logic.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, front-end developers, and other team members to ensure timely feature delivery.
- Actively participate in peer code reviews and contribute valuable input on architectural strategy.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and other application issues.
- Produce clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to industry best practices.
- Manage source code and versioning with Git in a collaborative team environment.
- Support and work alongside QA and DevOps teams throughout the testing and deployment lifecycle.
Requirements
- Experience with MVC framework preferably Yii2 (Laravel or Symfony)
- Must be living in Malta
- Excellent communication skills in English (Maltese considered an asset))
- Experience with MySQL/MariaDB
- Comfortable working in Linux-based development environments
Education and Experience
- 3+ years of experience in PHP Development
