A leading player within the automotive sector is looking for a Workshop Controller to optimise workshop resources to meet agreed departmental targets and to control the flow of work through the workshop to maximise its utilisation and ensure that technicians are working efficiently. The selected candidate must be customer focused, good team leader and support the Service Manager in driving the department forward.
Requirements:
- Supervise and motivate team of service technicians and pro-actively review the daily workload.
- Support technicians during repairs and ensure that high standards are achieved
- Monitor individual and workshop efficiencies to ensure key performance indicators are met.
- Plan the distribution of work amongst the team.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by implementing quality checks.
- To manage the effective use of workshop resources.
- Manage liaison between workshop and service reception on customer vehicle progress.
- Manage workshop standards in accordance with company requirements.
- Receive job cards from service reception and allocate work to technicians so as to maximise sold hours and monitor progress of job
- Ensure that the image and levels of customer service within the department is in line with Company standards.
- Identify individual training and development needs.
- Ensure that all special tools and equipment are kept in good order and that repair requirements are notified to the service manager once discovered.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar position in a workshop
- Excellent technical knowledge of vehicle repairs.
- A good understanding of the connection between quality, customer satisfaction and business success.
- Knowledge of current software applications (e.g. MS Office) and DMS.
- Knowledge of the statutory requirements for occupational health, safety, fire and environmental protection.
The remuneration package will be determined according to the candidate's skills and experience.
