Our client is looking to recruit a Service Manager to join their growing team. Reporting to the COO, the chosen candidate will:
Log, schedule, and monitor all workshop repairs, service calls, and deliveries
Oversee the status and progress of all repairs and service jobs
Plan and schedule installations for projects, including onsite visits
Coordinate service activities with technicians to ensure timely completion
Communicate professionally with clients regarding service requests, repairs, and delivery timelines
Liaise with the sales team to coordinate delivery and installation of projects
Conduct regular team briefings to align on priorities, schedules, and performance
Check and maintain accurate job documentation, service reports, and compliance records
Handle warranty claims, follow-ups, and related documentation with suppliers and clients
Prepare quotations for preventative maintenance agreements
Execute, schedule, and manage preventative maintenance contracts
Ensure maintenance activities are completed according to agreed service levels
Control, review, and approve technician timesheets and leave requests
Assist in the creation, implementation, and maintenance of service procedures
Manage petty cash, fuel cards, and the maintenance of company vehicles
Formulate, analyse, and present operational reports using the Field Service and Inventory Management software
Monitor service performance, costs, and resource utilisation through system data
Requirements
Exceptional problem-solving skills, particularly under pressure, to diagnose complex technical faults and resolve escalated customer issues
Highly organised, detail-oriented, with proficiency in using service management software, ERP systems (e.g., for inventory), and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
Education and Experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Maltese and English to interact effectively with technicians, suppliers, and customers.
Proven ability to lead and motivate a technical team, with excellent planning and resource allocation skills
Recent experience in managing a technical service department, ideally within the industrial appliances or similar industry in Malta.
