We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanic to lead our workshop operations. This role is designed for a technical expert with strong diagnostic capabilities and leadership experience. The successful candidate will not only handle complex repairs but also manage workshop workflow, mentor junior technicians, and take full ownership of the technical performance of our fleet and customer vehicles.
Duties and /responsibilities are but not limited to:
Manage daily workshop workflow and operations to ensure maximum efficiency.
Lead, support, and mentor a team of technicians, providing technical guidance on difficult cases.
Perform advanced computer diagnostics and troubleshooting on a wide variety of vehicle makes and models.
Oversee complex mechanical and electrical repairs, ensuring they are completed to the highest standards.
Take ownership of quality control, inspecting finished work before vehicle release.
Coordinate fleet maintenance schedules and prioritize urgent repairs.
Identify and implement improvements in workshop processes and tool management.
Maintain a safe and organized working environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Liaise with management regarding spare parts procurement and operational requirements.
Requirements
Proven expertise in advanced diagnostics, electrical systems, and mechanical troubleshooting.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a technical team.
Ability to work independently and take full responsibility for workshop outcomes.
Deep understanding of fleet maintenance and general automotive repair standards.
Relevant technical certifications/diplomas in Automotive Engineering or similar.
Fluent in English; knowledge of Maltese is considered a significant asset.
Valid driving license (Category B minimum, higher categories preferred).
Education and Experience
Extensive experience as a Senior Automotive Technician or Workshop Foreman
