Our client, a reputable group of companies in the hospitality, intellectual property, and construction sector is looking to recruit a Maintenance Manager to join their team. The chosen candidate will be responsible to:
- Regularly inspect and assess the condition of all physical facilities and equipment to prioritize and schedule maintenance and repair tasks;
- Create a detailed inventory of all equipment and machinery used in the hotel and establish a maintenance schedule for each item;
- Develop a preventive maintenance schedule for all equipment and facilities to catch and address potential issues early and prevent breakdowns;
- Establish a protocol for emergency response, including a 24/7 on-call schedule for maintenance staff. Ensure staff is trained to handle emergencies safely and efficiently;
- Develop and manage a maintenance department budget. Monitor expenses, forecast future costs, and adjust plans as necessary to stay within budget;
- Establish relationships with trusted vendors and contractors. Obtain competitive bids for services and supplies and ensure high-quality workmanship;
- Stay up to date with relevant regulations and standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance and address any issues promptly;
- Hire skilled maintenance staff and provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities. Evaluate performance and provide feedback for improvement;
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, work orders, inventory, and expenditures. Utilize this data for planning and reporting;
- Respond to guest maintenance issues quickly and effectively. Monitor guest feedback and use it to improve maintenance processes and overall guest satisfaction;
- Explore and implement energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable practices. Monitor utility usage and identify opportunities for improvement;
- Maintain clear communication and coordination with other departments such as housekeeping, front office, and food and beverage to minimize disruptions and ensure efficient operations.

Education and Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of working experience within a hotel maintenance department industry, 2 of which in a managerial position.
- Possesses license A and B certification
- Associated maintenance-related qualification in the field, or equivalent experience
- Strong technical knowledge and proficiency in various aspects of maintenance and repair including HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general building maintenance
- Familiarity with the health and safety requirements and regulations and industry standards
