Health & Safety Officer

  Central Malta  |  €35,000 - €45,000 Annually 

Our client, a leading company in the construction industry, is looking for a Health & Safety Officer to join their team. Main duties include:

  • Promote health and safety principles across the organization.
  • Conduct risk assessments, inspections of processes, worksites and facilities in line with compliance regulations and policies.
  • Monitor compliance with OHS legislation and liaise with the necessary individuals and stakeholders to enforce corrective action when required.
  • Develop training programs and deliver training on safety and environmental awareness.
  • Investigate and analyse all cases of injuries suffered on the place of work.
  • Handle emergency response drills and be a key member of the incident response team.
  • Consult with the local Health and Safety Authorities and other stakeholders on day-to-day safety issues.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of industry-specific risks such as working at heights, heavy equipment and machinery safety,
  • Possess good written and oral communication skills with the ability to engage all levels of the workforce

Education and Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety from a recognized institution
  • A minimum of 3 years proven work experience in a health and safety role
