Assistant Foreman

Our client, a leading company in the construction industry, is looking for an Assistant Foreman to join their team. Main duties include:

• Provide operational support to the Driller or Foreman in safely operating drilling equipment during drilling, tripping, casing, and other rig activities.
• Track and record key well parameters—such as weight on bit, pump pressure, and mud characteristics—and immediately report any irregularities or concerns.
• Lead and coordinate the drilling crew’s work on the rig floor to maintain efficient and safe operations.
• Promote strict adherence to company safety policies, operational guidelines, and industry regulations.
• Assist with documentation, ensuring accurate and up-to-date drilling records, reports, and logs.
• Help troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions, working closely with maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
• Coach and mentor crew members, providing guidance to floor hands and roustabouts on safe and effective rig procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free rig site at all times.
• Perform Driller or Foreman duties when delegated, ensuring operational continuity and compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of drilling operations, well control procedures, and safety practices.
• Proven leadership abilities with strong communication skills.
• Physically fit and capable of working in demanding environments, including offshore, onshore, and remote locations (within the Maltese islands).
• Proficient with drilling equipment, tools, and systems.

Education and Experience

• Prior rig experience or experience in an equivalent role.
