Senior IT Engineer - Security and Infrastructure

A reputable client of ours, specialised within the Finance and Corporate sectors, is looking to onboard a highly skilled and seasoned IT professional to take on the role of Senior IT Engineer - Security and Infrastructure. 

This role will act as a trusted advisor to the Regional Head of IT on EU-related matters.

Duties:

• Coordinate IT operations, changes, and incidents across EU and TPAC teams
• Act as escalation point for high-severity incidents impacting infrastructure and business‑critical systems.
• Lead EU-focused infrastructure and cybersecurity projects from planning to delivery
• Deliver EU‑scoped network and cybersecurity projects, including: Network upgrades, firewalls, VPN / SASE implementations Microsoft security controls (Defender, Azure Defender, Conditional Access)
• Own and maintain regional infrastructure (LAN/WAN, VPN, SD‑WAN, Azure connectivity, core services).
• Drive initiatives such as network upgrades, cloud migrations, and security enhancements
• Collaborate with global IT teams and vendors to ensure alignment with standards
• Support L2/L3 user issues and ensure SLA adherence across regions
• Oversee network, cloud, and core infrastructure services (e.g. Azure, AD, VPNs)
• Support vulnerability management, incident response, and compliance (e.g. GDPR)
• Contribute to audits, risk assessments, and IT strategy (resilience, cloud, DR)
• Help maintain documentation, standards, and governance frameworks

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of networking systems, including Azure, CATO Networks, HP Aruba, and Cisco Meraki.
• Strong hands‐on experience in enterprise network infrastructure (firewalls, routing, switching, VPNs, WAN/SD‐WAN).
• Experience with ITSM processes (incident, problem, change management).
• Experience supporting multi‐site, multi‐country environments across different time zones.
• Working knowledge of security controls, access management, and incident response.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Education and Experience

• Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
