A leading financial institution is seeking a skilled IT Security Officer to strengthen its cybersecurity posture and ensure compliance with evolving regulatory standards. This role is critical in safeguarding digital assets, maintaining data confidentiality, and proactively defending against cyber threats.
Role Summary
The IT Security Officer will be responsible for implementing and managing information security policies and controls. The role involves monitoring for threats, coordinating responses to incidents, and ensuring system and data integrity across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in cybersecurity and experience in regulated environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce IT security policies, procedures, and best practices
- Monitor system activity for potential threats and respond to incidents in real time
- Conduct regular security audits, risk assessments, and penetration testing
- Manage and configure security tools such as firewalls, SIEM, XDR, and endpoint protection systems
- Collaborate with internal teams and external regulators to meet compliance requirements
- Coordinate patch management and work with IT teams to remediate vulnerabilities
- Oversee disaster recovery and business continuity planning for IT systems
- Deliver cybersecurity training and raise awareness across departments
Requirements
- Strong background in network security and cybersecurity fundamentals
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, Security+, CISSP, or similar
- Practical experience with technologies including firewalls (Cisco ASA preferred), SIEM, XDR, endpoint security, and secure infrastructure
- Familiarity with vulnerability management, penetration testing, and remediation planning
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
