Our client is looking for a motivated IT Security Analyst to join their technology team and help protect systems, networks, and information from security threats. This role is well suited to someone with around two years of experience in IT or cybersecurity who is ready to deepen their hands-on security skills.
You’ll work closely with experienced technical and security professionals, supporting day-to-day security operations, monitoring systems for potential risks, and helping improve security processes across the organisation. Key Requirements
Solid understanding of core IT and cybersecurity principles, including network security, system hardening, access control, and threat awareness.
Hands-on experience supporting or administering security technologies such as firewalls, endpoint protection (AV/EDR), SIEM/log monitoring tools, or vulnerability scanners.
Working knowledge of Windows and/or Linux environments, including user permissions, patching, and basic system security configurations.
Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, routing, firewalls) and how they relate to security.
Familiarity with security incidents and response workflows.
Ability to review logs, alerts, or scan results and identify potential risks or unusual activity.
Requirements
Around 2 years of experience in an IT, cybersecurity, or system and networks administration.
Knowledge in IT technologies such as firewalls, network access control, IDS/IPS, operating systems (both Windows and Linux), IP Protocols, endpoint security and related system tools.
Exposure to vulnerability management, security assessments, or compliance activities (e.g., assisting with audits, documentation, or controls).
Experience following security policies, procedures, or frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, or internal security standards) is a plus..
Some experience creating or maintaining technical documentation, reports, or security guidelines.
Willingness to learn, take feedback, and continuously build cybersecurity expertise.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and fixing issues.
Education and Experience
A degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
Any relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, or similar) are a bonus.
