Senior Management Business Development Job Opportunity (International -China)

Our client is seeking a highly connected, entrepreneurial-minded Maltese national with strong business experience in China, preferably within the real estate, retail &/or hospitality sectors, to spearhead cross-border opportunities between their company in Malta and China investors. This strategic role involves leveraging existing networks, identifying investment opportunities, and opening business doors in China.

The Role

  • Identify and initiate high-value real estate, retail and hospitality ventures between China and Malta.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in China (developers, investors, government bodies) and the Maltese company.
  • Act as a bridge between Maltese business interests and Chinese investors or companies seeking international expansion.
  • Support the launch and growth of joint ventures, facilitating setup, licensing, and local compliance.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, summits, and business delegations in China 

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of business experience in China, with a focus on real estate, retail hospitality, or cross-border investment
  • Strong existing network of Chinese business contacts (developers, investors, intermediaries)
  • Fluent in English (Mandarin proficiency is a strong advantage), excellent negotiation, communication, and cultural sensitivity
  • Willing and able to travel frequently to China for business development
