Product & Business Development Manager (Hybrid)

  Central Malta  |  €43,000 - €50,000 Annually 

An international company are looking for an Associate Business Development Manager to lead and drive the business development function. Reporting to the Head of Sales, Business and Operations, your responsibilities will include: 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and lead the creation of annual business plan; performance reporting; investigation and reporting of reasons for deviation; formulation of action & recovery plans; implementation of action & recovery plans
  • Review and report on existing RBU / Dealer / Customer communication, product information, training and incentive processes, workflow, interfaces, tools; propose enhancements or alignment where appropriate.
  • Coordinate, manage, and oversee all product development NII, including consultation with other offices in Europe for the most appropriate product portfolio and product set-up;
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of Extended Warranty and car-related insurance contracts for new and used cars, pricing and loss estimations, in order to develop new product lines and enhance existing ones;
  • Develop or redevelop, validate, agree, negotiate, and renegotiate insurance and reinsurance schemes and contracts with third parties, ensuring business growth, performance, and profitability considerations are met on time;
  • Develop new sales channels in line with the market demands.
  • Manage relationships with existing insurers, partners, and Group Companies;
  • Develop business cases to support new product launches.
  • Oversee the development, modification, review, and implementation of products and pricing;
  • Review and establish Policies and Procedures for product development and pricing in collaboration with the actuarial function;
  • Collaborate with the Compliance, Controlling, and Legal functions to launch products that meet market demand and comply with applicable regulations
  • Coordinate competitive product benchmarking with auto manufacturers in Europe;
  • Monitor performance of existing products and initiate countermeasures if performance is not at the agreed level;

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the Insurance business
  • Candidates with knowledge of the Extended Warranty business and car-related insurance products (GAP, Tyre & Wheel etc.) would be given preference.  
  • Professional level of English and excellent communication skills 
  • Able to take own initiative 
  • Must be willing to travel occasionally
