Our esteemed client in the fast-moving consumer goods sector is seeking a Category Manager. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys building strong supplier relationships, and is passionate about driving sales performance and business growth.
You will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of brands, ensuring their optimal performance through effective planning, execution, and collaboration with both internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with suppliers to support mutual growth
Collaborate on joint business plans, including new product opportunities and market expansion initiative
Secure and manage supplier budgets while overseeing internal fund allocation
Support and guide the sales team with the tools and strategies required for successful execution
Implement best practices and tools to maximise sales performance
Ensure clear communication of commercial plans across relevant teams
Conduct regular in-store visits to identify opportunities and improve performance
Identify and onboard new brands, ensuring successful market entry
Work closely with internal stakeholders on brand positioning, pricing, and go-to-market strategies
Monitor brand performance and recommend actions to improve profitability and market share
Drive financial performance through accurate forecasting and effective budget management
Prepare commercial proposals tailored to different channels and key clients
Monitor budgets, manage claims, and ensure cost control
Oversee stock forecasting and supplier order planning
Requirements
Degree in Business or a related field
2–3 years’ experience in a similar commercial or business-focused role
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Fluent in both English and Maltese (written and spoken)
Experience in sourcing and negotiating with suppliers is considered an asset
