Category Manager

  Central Malta  |  Up to €45,000 Annually 

Our esteemed client in the fast-moving consumer goods sector is seeking a Category Manager. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys building strong supplier relationships, and is passionate about driving sales performance and business growth.

You will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of brands, ensuring their optimal performance through effective planning, execution, and collaboration with both internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with suppliers to support mutual growth
  • Collaborate on joint business plans, including new product opportunities and market expansion initiative
  • Secure and manage supplier budgets while overseeing internal fund allocation
  • Support and guide the sales team with the tools and strategies required for successful execution
  • Implement best practices and tools to maximise sales performance
  • Ensure clear communication of commercial plans across relevant teams
  • Conduct regular in-store visits to identify opportunities and improve performance
  • Identify and onboard new brands, ensuring successful market entry
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders on brand positioning, pricing, and go-to-market strategies
  • Monitor brand performance and recommend actions to improve profitability and market share
  • Drive financial performance through accurate forecasting and effective budget management
  • Prepare commercial proposals tailored to different channels and key clients
  • Monitor budgets, manage claims, and ensure cost control
  • Oversee stock forecasting and supplier order planning

Requirements

  • Degree in Business or a related field
  • 2–3 years’ experience in a similar commercial or business-focused role
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Fluent in both English and Maltese (written and spoken)
  • Experience in sourcing and negotiating with suppliers is considered an asset
  • Valid driving licence
