Chief Risk & Compliance Officer ( CRCO )

  Central Malta  |  €80,000 - €90,000 Annually 

A reputable client of ours, specialised within the Business Support Services industry, is looking to onboard a Chief Risk & Compliance Officer to join their growing team. The designated person will be reporting to the Group CEO, and will ensure comprehensive Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance for all Group entities:

Duties:

  • Design and execute Risk Management and Compliance frameworks tailored to each company and sector.
  • Oversee incident response procedures, crisis management planning, and root cause analysis.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, reputational, and safety risks; also ensuring compliance with national and international regulations.
  • Lead the establishment of robust internal controls, reporting structures, and audit trails.
  • Develop and deliver risk awareness training and emergency preparedness drills across all companies.
  • Advise executive leadership and boards on emerging risks and regulatory changes, and provide immediate recommendations following any serious incidents.
  • Serve as primary liaison to regulatory and investigative authorities, ensuring timely and transparent communication.
  • Establish rigorous risk assessments, regular safety audits, preventive maintenance protocols, and emergency response plans.
  • Address compliance with transportation, environmental, and insurance regulations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to security protocols, staff vetting, data protection, and legal regulations surrounding asset and personnel safety.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and ethical conduct throughout the Group.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in risk and compliance leadership, with a track record in direct experience managing critical incidents.
  • Exceptional crisis management, investigation, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with an emphasis on clear reporting and the ability to educate diverse teams.

Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree in risk management, law, business administration, or a related field.
  • Certifications such as CRISC, CCEP, CIRM, CSP, or equivalent will be given preference
