Salary Category IV - Gross monthly: €4,111.47

Job description

  • Contribute to and help drive the AMMR dossier, ensuring the coherence and consistency of the AMMR component across the Agency’s operational support activities, consolidating inputs from across the Centre and acting as a horizontal point of reference within QPTS for AMMR-related matters.
  • Perform analysis and research on AMMR-related issues and contribute to the development and/or revision of AMMR products, guidance documents, SOPs and other operational tools.
  • Contribute to AMMR-related quality assurance activities, including the identification of procedural gaps and the proposal of improvements.
  • Support Pact-related implementation and preparedness across operations, with a focus on the AMMR component.
  • Contribute to the operationalisation of solidarity and supporting the implementation of relocation activities.
  • Contribute to the development of operational tools and good practices to Operations;
  • Where needed participate in missions, external meetings and conferences and activities related to AMMR and asylum processes;
  • Perform any other duties required in the interest of the service as required by Head of Sector.

Minimum requirement

  • A completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma.
  • Professional experience of at least 3 years relevant to the above-described responsibilities.
  • Professional experience in the field of asylum, in particular in Dublin/responsibility determination procedures and/or in solidarity and relocation measures.
  • Knowledge of the Common European Asylum System (CEAS) and of the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum, in particular the Asylum and Migration Management Regulation (AMMR).
  • Thorough knowledge of English (level C1 in all dimensions as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages or CEFRL).
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and web-based applications.

Advantageous criteria

  • Experience working in or with the EUAA.
  • Experience in drafting operational guidance, SOPs or quality assurance tools.
  • Knowledge of an additional official language of the EU.

  • Strong drafting and communication skills, with the ability to produce clear operational documents and guidance.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including national authorities and operational partners.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and deliver quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team in a multicultural environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-evolving operational and legislative context.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Non-resident rate: Non-Maltese employees who are moving to Malta for the purposes of employment will be subject to "Non-resident" tax rates for the first 183 days from arrival – these are higher than the standard rates. Once 183 days of residence are reached, income tax will be recalculated for the entire period of employment in the current year from arrival in Malta, and the tax will be adjusted to recover any overpaid tax. If the 183-day period extends into the following year, and 183 days of residence in Malta are not accumulated, the overpaid tax will need to be claimed back from the authorities with personal income tax return.
