Job Description
The Reception Assistant – Site Management works under the coordination of the Greek authorities
(Reception and Identification Service) in performing some or all of the following tasks:
- Supports the local RIS Director in the management of the reception centre;
- Support the coordination of the stakeholders working in the reception centre;
- Support the liaison with local and national authorities (Hellenic Police, Greek Asylum Service, public hospitals, etc.) and other relevant stakeholders (NGOs, civil society, etc.);
- Support on the welcoming of new residents (including the signature of the Site Regulation);
- Support on keeping up to date of the registry of residents;
- Support in the establishment of a referral pathways to services and coordinate transportation to/from essential services;
- Support on the issuance of asylum seekers cards;
- Participate in local meetings, either internally in RIS or with other local actors;
- Attend and contribute to thematic, coordination or other meetings and workshops organised by RIS, EUAA and/or other actors at central level, that aim to enhance and harmonise activities, procedures, and tools on reception issues;
- Attend regular meetings with EUAA;
- Participate in trainings organised by EUAA or other stakeholders locally or in other locations, when requested;
- Be available to participate in missions, as per the operational needs of EUAA;
- Provide to EUAA regular analytical and statistical reports of provided services, challenges faced and best practices observed;
- Draft documents, templates, minutes and reports;
- Perform any other tasks in the interest of the service, relevant for the specific profile.
Requirements
- University degree – preferred and advantageous;
- Demonstrated previous experience in relevant tasks required;
- Very good understanding of the Greek migration and reception context;
- Fluency in Greek and in English (oral and written);
- Computer literacy, including MS Office applications (Word, Excel), use of internet and web - based applications;
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills;
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and under pressure.
