Marketing & Events Coordinator (Part-Time)

A well-established client of ours is seeking a Marketing & Events Coordinator to support marketing initiatives and assist with executing events within our hospitality and port operations on part-time basis (20 hours per week). This entry-level role is ideal for a motivated self-driven looking to gain hands-on experience in marketing, stakeholder engagement and event coordination in a dynamic, customer-facing environment, with the possibility of future growth. 

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Support

  • Assist with the execution of marketing campaigns promoting destination offerings and special events
  • Help create and coordinate content for social media, email communications, website updates and on-site signage in accordance with brand standards
  • Maintain marketing calendars, contact lists and schedules

Event & Guest Experience Coordination

  • Support planning and on-site execution of events and other activations 
  • Assist with logistics including internal and supplier coordination, signage, materials and setup/breakdown
  • Serve as an on-site coordinator during events as may be required, ensuring a positive visitor and stakeholder experience
  • Help coordinate pre-, on-site and post-event communications

Administrative & Team Support

  • Assist with vendor purchase orders and invoices
  • Coordinate with internal departments, tenants, partners and other stakeholders
  • Maintain organized records, event documentation and photo/video assets
  • Provide general administrative support to the marketing team

Requirements

  • Ability to multitask and work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Maltese preferred
  • Passion or strong interest in hospitality, tourism or maritime is a must
  • Positive, customer-focused attitude and willingness to learn
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Education and Experience

  • Diploma in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management, Event Management, or a related field (or currently completing such a diploma) and/or minimum two years’ experience in any such areas
  • Experience with outdoor / public-space activations
  • Experience with social media platforms and basic content creation, including short-form video
  • Familiarity with tools like Canva, email marketing platforms, or CRM systems
  • Internship, volunteer or part-time experience in marketing, events, hospitality, tourism or customer service preferred
