Events Coordinator

  Central Malta  |  Up to €21,000 Annually 

Our client within the healthcare industry is looking for a passionate and committed Events Coordinator to join their team. This role is central to creating and delivering a varied and meaningful program of activities that enhance the physical, emotional, and social well-being of their residents. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering a warm, inclusive, and engaging environment, while also acting as a main point of contact for residents and their families. Strong communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer care are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a monthly schedule of recreational, social, cultural, and therapeutic activities tailored to residents’ interests and individual abilities.
  • Plan and coordinate internal and external events, including outings and off-site visits, ensuring suitable transport and accessibility.
  • Organize special events such as religious celebrations, cultural activities, and community involvement initiatives.
  • Design and lead specialized programs for residents living with dementia.
  • Proactively encourage resident participation through personal engagement and invitations.
  • Conduct group and individual meetings with residents to identify and understand their personal preferences, hobbies, and social needs.
  • Collaborate with families and staff to accommodate specific needs, such as birthdays, anniversaries, or cultural/religious observances.
  • Gather feedback and monitor participation to evaluate and refine the activities program.
  • Ensure all activities are delivered within the allocated budget.
  • Work closely with the care and nursing teams to align activities with residents' individual care plans.
  • Maintain open, empathetic, and effective communication with residents and their families, fostering strong relationships.
  • Address concerns and complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues as needed and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Safeguard resident confidentiality in accordance with data protection policies.
  • Keep detailed records of attendance, resident feedback, and program evaluations.
  • Create and distribute promotional materials related to upcoming activities and events.
  • Coordinate with external entertainers and service providers as required.
  • Submit timely and accurate reports to the General Manager and other relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in event planning, activity coordination, or customer service is considered an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a resident-centered approach.
  • Creative, enthusiastic, and highly organized with excellent time management.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Basic understanding of elderly care and dementia-friendly practices is advantageous.
  • Fluent in both English and Maltese, spoken and written.
  • Competent in basic IT skills.
