Our client is looking to recruit a Team Leader, in the EU, Policy and International Affairs focusing on Climate Action.
The chosen candidate would be responsible for the below duties:
- Lead and oversee the EU and International Affairs team, managing workloads, setting priorities
- Provide direction and mentoring on EU and international legislation, policies, processes, and documentation requirements
- Track EU and global policy developments, keeping the organisation informed of matters impacting national interests
- Promote compliance by flagging emerging issues and supporting the preparation of clear, consistent organisational positions
- Coordinate and report on EU-funded projects, ensuring full adherence to funding and governance obligations
- Prepare and review technical documentation, including position papers, briefing notes, memoranda, and supporting materials
- Brief representatives ahead of meetings and participate in national, EU, and international fora, reporting outcomes to senior management
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure well-founded, aligned positions and effective information sharing
- Maintain accurate records and ensure timely submission of documentation in line with legal and procedural standards.
- Monitor deadlines, follow up on agreed actions, and provide regular updates and reports to leadership.
- Strengthen team capability and improve internal processes to enhance responsiveness to EU and international developments.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of local experience working in a similar role and industry
- Experience leading, supporting or mentoring a team is a must
- Excellent verbal and written Maltese and English
Education and Experience
- A Degree Level of Education MQF Level 6 in European Studies, EU Policy and Politics, Public Policy, International Relations, or Economics is needed
